Removing custom rolesClick to copy link
A workspace Owner or Manager can remove a custom role at any time.
-
In the Bitrise app, open your workspace and go to Workspace settings > Collaboration > Roles.
-
Find the custom role and select its remove icon.
-
If no one is currently assigned to the role, confirm the deletion.
If the role is still assigned to one or more members or workspace groups, you must pick a Replacement role first: another custom role or a built-in system role with the same scope (Workspace or Bitrise CI). The Delete button stays disabled until you choose one.
-
Confirm the deletion.
Everyone assigned to the removed role, including members of any global access group, is moved to the replacement role you picked. No one is left without a role.
